We are Republicans. We are Democrats. We are Independents and the unaffiliated. Our combined voices represent the majority of American voters, and we believe our leaders must be reminded of their obligation to govern with integrity and seek for truth. This site is dedicated to amplifying the individual voices of citizens who are speaking truth to their leaders and requesting honesty and integrity in return.

During the 2019-2020 impeachment proceedings, we at Mormon Women for Ethical Government realized that a majority of our members, like a majority of Americans, wanted to know more from people with firsthand knowledge of the events — the witnesses that would be crucial for a full and fair impeachment trial. So we decided to become the messenger, offering to print and hand deliver any letter that peaceably petitioned senators to push for a full and fair impeachment trial.

After our first open call for letters, we were overwhelmed by not only the quantity of responses but also the thoughtfulness and patriotism they embodied. All told, MWEG volunteers hand delivered more than 1,000 letters — written by women and men from nearly every state — to more than 80 senators on Capitol Hill.

As we read their words, we witnessed a nation refusing to be torn apart by personal ideologies and petitioning Congress to do likewise. This display of devotion to democracy buoyed us up, and we felt a duty to share their words as additional witnesses.

Since then, MWEG members have petitioned government leaders with letters about a variety of other topics:

The letters are genuine, personal, and inspiring. We are reposting them here to serve as encouragement for others to do the same. We must take back the power of our individual voices and make them heard. Join us and share yours
