Dear Senators Lee and Romney,

I am writing you to encourage you to thoroughly support a full, fair, and impartial trial of the President of the United States, Donald J. Trump.  As a citizen of the United States, he should be accorded the right to a fair and impartial trial. As the president of the United States, he should be held accountable for his actions and have the right to have them reviewed in an impartial manner. No man should be above the law and no man should be denied the right to a full, unbiased trial. No man should seek to circumvent the full process of law.

Please ensure that, to the best of your ability, the Senate respects the process for impeachment outlined in the constitution by holding a fair and full trial that includes sworn testimonies from witnesses. Call these sworn witnesses and listen impartially to them. Analyze completely the implications of the evidence they provide. They do not give it lightly and deserve the respect of being fully heard.

I am impressed by a quote I read recently from President George W. Bush: “I was not elected to serve one party, but to serve one nation (December 13, 2000).” This should apply to all elected officials of government.

I request that you encourage Senator McConnell to act in an impartial manner independent of the President so that a fair trial may be ensured. He must not be a mere extension of a political party or person but an honorable member of an independent, separate branch of the government that serves the purpose of check and balance of power ensuring the democratic principles of our government.

Thank you for your service.

Sincerely,
Gayla (Utah)
