Dear Senator Lee,

I am a registered Republican, a temple recommend-holding 71-year-old grandmother, and one of your constituents. I have followed and witnessed with increasing despair the shocking and blatant disregard by our current president for moral decency, common courtesy, and basic civility in his speech and in his dealings, both at home and abroad. This hubris has led him to commit unlawful and unconstitutional acts for which the House of Representatives has impeached him.

It is now incumbent upon the U.S. Senate to hold a full and fair trial.  What would such a trial look like? At the very least, there would be sworn witnesses called and a true effort made to conduct an honest and real evaluation, with all pertinent evidence available and open for presentation and discussion.

Senator Lee, please consider your legacy and how history will remember where you stand and what you do at this critical time. Please consider your responsibility to speak for those who voted for you, and those who did not, because you are representing all Utahns.  Please insist that Mitch McConnell conduct an impeachment trial without prejudice or bias or preconceived conclusions.

Sincerely,
Kathy (Utah)
